IL COLLEGIO
Luogo di fascino e di preghiera
Il Collegio fu la prima casa madre delle Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice. Secondo la tradizione, Maria Mazzarello, dopo il tifo che l’aveva prostrata, mentre andava passeggiando, ebbe una visione: le parve di vedersi di fronte un gran caseggiato, con tutta l’apparenza esteriore di un collegio per giovinette, e nel contempo una voce le suggeriva, A te le affido. L’edificio venne fatto costruire nel 1865 dal sacerdote mornesino Don Pestarino e venne realizzato con la collaborazione degli abitanti di Mornese; fu benedetto da Don Bosco il 13 dicembre 1867. Nel 1872 vi si trasferì Maria Mazzarello con le sue giovani, che divennero Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice. Successivamente al trasferimento della Santa a Nizza Monferrato, il collegio venne venduto, per poi essere riacquistato nel 1949, quando divenne un orfanotrofio per le figlie dei carabinieri. Nel cortile del collegio è presente un pozzo, dal quale attingevano l’acqua le giovinette e che è diventato con il tempo il simbolo della povertà iniziale.
THE BOARDING SCHOOL
Place of charm and prayer
The Boarding school was the first mother house of the Daughters of Maria Ausiliatrice. According to the tradition Maria Mazzarello after typhus disease, that severely affected her health, while walking had a vision: she thought she saw in front of her a large house with the exterior appearance of a boarding school for young girls, meanwhile a voice murmured her: “I entrust them to you”. The building was constructed in 1865 by the parish priest of Mornese, Father Pestarino and it was realized with the help inhabitants of the village; it was blessed by Don Bosco on 13th December 1867. In 1872 Maria Mazzarello moved there with her young girls, who became the Daughters of Maria Ausiliatrice. After the transfer of the Saint to Nizza Monferrato, the boarding school was sold, and then reacquired in 1949 and transformed into an orphanage for the Carabinieri orphan daughters. In the courtyard of the boarding school there is a well, from which the young girls drew water: over the course of time became the symbol of the initial poverty.

Le Collège a été la première Maison-Mère des Filles de Marie Auxiliatrice. Selon la tradition, Maria Mazzarello, après le typhus qui l'avait prosternée, un jour, pendant une promendade, elle a un vison: elle se voit devant à un grand immeuble avec toute l'apparence extérieure d'un collège pour jeunes filles, pendant qu’une voix lui suggère;”à toi je le confie”.
Le bâtiment a été construit en 1865 par le prêtre de Mornese Don Pestarino avec la collaboration des habitants du village. Il a été béni par Don Bosco le 13 décembre 1867. En 1872, Maria Mazzarello y s’établit avec ses jeunes, qui deviennent les filles de Marie Auxiliatrice. Après le transfert de la Sainte à Nizza Monferrato, le Collège fut vendu, puis racheté en 1949, quand il se change en un orphelinat pour les filles des Carabinieri.
Dans la cour du Collège, il y a un puits par lequel les jeunes filles puisaient l’eau et ce puits est devenu le symbole de la pauvreté des origines.

Das Collegio ist das erste Mutterhaus der Don Bosco Schwestern FMA gewesen. Nach ihrer langen Typhus-Erkrankung hat Maria, laut Überlieferung, eine Vision: sie sieht sich gegenüber einem großen Gebäude, dessen äußere Erscheinung einem Mädchen-Internat gleicht, während eine Stimme ihr gebietet: „Dir vertraue ich sie an“.
Der Bau des Collegio wurde 1865 von Don Domenico Pestarino angefangen: seine Landsleute halfen ihm tatkräftig dabei. Am 13. Dezember 1867 weihte don Bosco das Gebäude ein. In wenigen Jahren wird das Collegio erbaut und 1872 siedelt Maria dorthin mit ihren jungen Freundinnen um. Im August 1872 werden sie Figlie di Maria Ausiliatrice. Nach dem Umzug der Nonnen nach Nizza Monferrato wurde das Collegio verkauft, aber, im Jahre 1949 zurückerworben, wurde es wieder zum Internat, diesmal für die Waisen der gefallenen Carabinieri. Im Hof findet sich ein Brunnen, der mit der Zeit Wahrzeichen der anfänglichen Armut der Schwestern geworden ist.
